The Field's End conference was pretty good, my presentation went smoothly and there were plenty of other interesting people around. Sold some books, made some good contacts, made friends with a bunch of nice new people I hadn't met before, good stuff all around. But I'm ready to go home now.
In other news, the pesky volcano in Iceland picked a FINE time to blow, torpedoing a long-awaited visit from an aunt who was due to fly in on Tuesday. This is looking less and less likely as time goes by. What will happen next, I really don't know. But - permit me - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH. Yes, I know, it could be worse and for many it is, stranded hither and yon across the globe. But, nevertheless, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH. Come *on* now. Your timing SUCKS, you impossible-to-pronounce-properly-Iceland
