update on the days of winter -

below freezing, all day. Part of the day was quite beautiful, with snowy firs against a sharp blue winter sky, sunshine sparkling on frost - but the reality outside (where I didn't venture to drive) was apparently that cars and people were slipping and sliding all around the city and this was only the first day...

Current temperature outside: 19. Forecast for tonight: 12. Forecast for tomorrow night: 13. Forecast lows for the next two weeks: the highest forecast I can currently see is 27, in something like ten days' time. In this period, days in which daytime highs are above freezing: ONE.


I know there are other folks out there whose current temperatures are below ZERO, but allow me my shivers. We've never had it THIS cold, THIS long, since we've been here.
