SInce there's never anything worth watching on TV any more these days, we stocked up on DVDs - old favourites ("Turner and Hooch", "Secondhand Lions", "Free Enterprise") and a couple of new ones, including the whole season of the late lamented series "Miracles" which if you haven't seen you ought to. On top of that we gave each other JUST what we needed - more books. The coffee table in the living room is groaning with them. They include a package a friend sent us, of real antique books, one of them in LATIN for crying out loud and published, if my Roman numeral skills aren't too rusty, in 1723. I was speechless at that one. I don't know what it even IS, but the antiquity of it is spellbinding....
Amongst other things under the tree were a deek lamp, a holographic print of a tree which "changes" seasons as you walk past it, and bunches of CDs (from Miriam Makeba to the Bickersons - don't laugh, Himself wanted it!) My BIG present was a brand new digital camera, a really GOOD one, a digital SLR - which is fantastic! Can't wait for it to stop raining long enough to go out and go snap happy...
The cats got a couple of fluffy mice each and are STILL playing with them...
Hope you all had a good one. Less than a week, and it will be a whole 'nother year...
