Mine looks like it has been hit by not one but a couple of different explosives.
I have a PILE of tax stuff on my right, some entered into databases by a bookkeeper some not, these two piles need to be kept separate until they get handed to my accountant in January, but now they're cluttering up a large part of the desk.
In front of me, and on the floor beside me, are two separate versions of the "Last Ditch" MS, awaiting comments from the editor (which won't happen until JANUARY, but somehow getting these things off my desk is, you know, bad luck or something).
On my left there is a pile of miscellaneous stuff - things to be filed, printouts of emails/first drafts/interesting websites, catalogues, newsletters, post-it pads, correspondence, and somewhere at the bottom of it all a forlorn ToDo folder which I started once in the fond hope that it would contain the clutter and the background file for "last Ditch" with all my notes and the background details.
I think I need a spring clean...
