Yesterday I packed up Momma and took her off to Victoria, British COlumbia, for the day. I'd never been there either, so it would be a brand new experience for both of us, and it's been a stressful few months for her. She deserved a little something to unwind and relax, and Victoria, by reputation, was just the ticket.
Just got TWO parcels in the mail. One was the first couple of copies of the UK paperback edition of "Embers of Heaven", and the other was the bound proof for "The Gift of the Unmage" (and the website for the trilogy is now live, although there isn't much on it right now - but if you want to see a nice pic of the cover, go to www.worldweaversweb.com and enjoy...and there will be more soon).
Am excited all over again. Books - new books - they just never lose that vivid excitement, the sense of exhilaration of holding them in your hands. I'm jazzed as all get go.
Spent the day with a friend, taking photos, learning how to shoot in RAW format rather than JPG - THAT was fun too, but after Victoria yesterday and walking around a good couple of miles of trails today, it's been an exciting couple of days. Maybe I'll post some photos tomorrow.
It's kind of two days till Worldcon. I'd better start packing soon.
