Penny for them...

...as it were.

How much are the words in your book worth? Per dollar spent on the book? Per ounce of weight?...

Amazon seems to be having some fun with this. My stats:

Changer of Days

Words per Dollar:
14,798
Words per Ounce:
17,473

Hidden Queen

Words per Dollar:
18,320
Words per Ounce:
18,613

The Secrets of Jin Shei

Words per Dollar:
18,628
Words per Ounce:
13,455

I'm trying to figure out just what I can make of this. I've just never thought of books, of words in books, in quite these terms before...

Foreign editions and new books, oh my!

I'm going to be buried in Furrin Languages this year!

The German edition of "Jin Shei" is imminent - end of January, I'm told. The Spanish and Catalan editions are being published in May 2006, and the Czech edition is to follow in June. (That still leaves a healthy crop for 2007 - Turkish, Lithuanian, Portuguese...)

Combine that with "Embers of Heaven" out now in Australia and to be released as a MM Paperback in the UK in September, and the first YA book which is slated for "winter 2006"...

I need a new bookshelf.
