Jin Shei Cover from sgreer

Another lovely day in Vancouver

Went there today to be interviewed for the Vancouver Sun by that paper's book editor, and had the interview sitting over a latte in the, well, Vancouver sun - it was a beautiful day, and the sky was blue flecked with puffy white summer clouds, and a big seagull came down on the table next door to us to investigate the detritus left by the patrons who had just departed, and everything went wonderfully (they are apparently sending a photographer to Bellingham to shoot me...er, let me rephrase that... sometime in early July). The editor/interviewer was interested, knowledgeable and very pleasant (well, she bought me the latte - I have to like that in a person...) The interview will run at an unspecified time this summer (after I have been, er, shot) If it appears in any shape or form online, I'll post a heads-up.

On the way home, we went to pick up the car in the parking garage and found a note on the windshield. The note said, verbatim, this:

"Can you *please* leave us a copy of "Jin Shei" We are in space 42!! Many thanks, your fans from England and New York"

I don't usually leave free copies of the book lying around, but you had to admire the chutzpah. I always carry a spare copy or three in the car, so I left them one tucked underneath their windshield wiper. I have no idea how truthful the note is, or whether it was just someone trying to cadge a free book - but hey, who can say no to international fans like that?... [grin]

A good day was had.
