Writerly update and wordcount

Chapter fixed - at least good enough to be slotted into the rest of the first draft MS - and what we have is this:

If I get my head screwed on right and plough right on with chapter-the-next, I could have the first draft of this baby sewn up by Friday. And then it's a round of complete-MS-overview-once-over, and when I've done THAT, it's off to the agent's office with it... and the journey begins.
