Where I'm at:
- the proofs for "Embers of Heaven" are pending or even on the wau, awaiting confirmation from editorial on that one. This book is now poised on the edge of publication, with the galleys due for distribution by late November, probably, and the first publication (Australia/New Zealand, trade PB) expected in January, quickly followed by the hardcover in the UK in February. So that's almost done with, now.
- am working on a synopsis for the next big book, which should be in the hands of my editors by November, so I'm told...
- the editorial comments for the first book of my YA trilogy are promised in another week or so. I'll be working hard on those in between the last few convention and other commitments I have for the rest of this year. With a bit of luck and a lot of application to the task at hand, this job should be done by the end of November.
- the Something New of the title and the bar (which will NOT get updated as often as people might wish, this is just to jog ME into doing something!) is BOok 2 of the YA trilogy which I aim to begin writing seriously this week.
I still have two conventions - one major! - left to do this year, and one more overnight trip to Seattle to attend a literary function on October 19. After the first week of November, however, when I get back from WOrld Fantasy COn, I'm going to go into full writer mode again. I have no further travel commitments to worry about, and I have plenty of writerly deadlines looming.
Look for an update of the word bar around Christmas...
